This was my first board after 15 years of alpine skiing. I know it is described as freestyle, but its stiffness, shape and sidecut make it an exceptional carving board as well. For riders over 200 lbs with big feet the extrawide Lamar is an exceptional carver as well as a great powder board. It holds edges well at high speed - much better than my buddies $600 Burton. The only drawback I've found is that because of its' stiffness it is difficult to handle in crud and skier induced moguls.
