Many of the reviews of the Strike say that it is "a great board for the money." I've been riding mine for 3 seasons, and I agree completely, it is a great board for the money! That claim implies that it doesn't perform as well as a $550 board, but nobody talks about where it comes up short. I've demoed a Burton Custom and a Salomon 550, and I found some differences compared with the Strike. First, the Kemper is a bit heavier than a more expensive board of the same size. That being said, I've never found myself flying off a jump thinking "gosh this board is weighing me down, I could be flying so much higher." It's just a bit heavier getting on and off the lifts, etc. No biggie. The main difference between that and more expensive boards is the edge. The edge on the Kemper simply doesn't hold as well on the ice. Also, the base doesn't resist scratches as well as, for instance, a graphite base. The above not withstanding, I also totally agree with the good points that other people have raised: It's responsive, has great flex, it's a solid board for screwing around in the park as well as carving steep runs. Overall I have been pleased!
