I picked up this Atlantis Board on a clearance deal in 2000-01. I cherry picked it from a bunch of Atlantis boards which were improperly handled during delivery and most had problems like stress cracks on the top sheet laminate or other cuts & gouges. Finding a nice copy of this vintage is not going to be an easy chore because of the top sheet being prone to problems... On to the ride...It is a fiberglass cap board, with a wood core set up by had with a few layers of fiberglas wet wrap and who knows what for extra strength( so essentially sandwich construction with a cap).......The blue color is great...The board rides very very Sweeet......It is a symetrical board with a centered stance and the primary intended use by the manufacturer being Freestyle....This boards capability to kick & spin far exceeds my ability to do such manuevers as a rider. If you aspire to ride like the next Ross Powers pick up a board something like this one and you'll be on your way to doing some double rotation twists & spins. Other than that it is very stable, and requires little effort to turn. Rides fakie as good or better than most other rides. Anyone could ride this board but a park rider would love it. The only negative about the ride is it probably wont save your life on Valdez, Alaska- type, wind swept, icy covered terrain; but then again it's a pure freestyle meant to flip & switch & boogie board.
