The Haulin' Oats is marketed as a freeride board. The board hasa progressive flex that is somewhat softer at the nose with a stiffer tail. How does it perform? On powder this board rocks as it has a relatively wide nose and tail. It powers through crud and is extremely easy to turn. This board seemed a little slow edge to edge as the waist is 25.3 cm and most boards I've ridden are on the narrower side in the 24.5 range. Keep in mind I have a small size 8 foot and for larger feet this would not be a problem. For a larger foot, this board would feel quicker I'm sure. This board held a carve great and had a nice pop from turn to turn. Long radius turns were super; short radius turns not quite as good. This board has an amazing base. The graphite sintered base is fast and has phenomenal glide. Landing jumps was just so easy. I was able to stick almost all the jumps I tried. All in all a great board. 8 out of 10.
