This is an old-school snowboard. Shapes like a Burton Air with the flat tail. I'm not sure of the year, I asked a Nidecker rep (in a 2001 convention) if he remembers this model and he said the Wildmind is at least five yrs old, maybe older. At any rate, it served me well for what it was worth (cheap, bought brand new for $60 in 2001).
At any rate, it's a good beginner board. I learned the falling leaf and heelside turns on this baby. It held up in spring condition and in crud. It's not a fast board (probably an extruded base) but the turning is easy. I especially like the narrow waist (less then 23cm!), perfect for my feet. Although the board is a little on the stiff side, I still found it good for learning.
Besides the flat tail, the only other thing I found unusual is the edge -- it's neither cap, sandwich, or half-cap. Hard to describe, but it's like two pieces -- the top sheet and the base -- just gluded together. Sort of like a sandwich but a sandwich is multi-layered and this is two layered. Still it works fine.
If you're advanced you'll not want to get this board (you probably know that already. :) ). But if you're just a beginner still learning to turn, it'll work fine.
