The Libtech Emmagator. Bought this year (2003) in France when on a nine day trip to the Alps. Id read up on a few companies, a few boards and was looking for something that will take me from beginner/intermediate to good intermediate. Tried out a few boards on the slopes and this one came out on top. It carves well, sidecut gives a medium length turn and it holds an edge well, even though Im 100kg. For a board thats 165 it feels much shorter and more manouverable. Its very light, which gives a skittish uncertain feel when you input an uncertain direction. If you tell it clear and be very positive what you want it to do it does it. Its one of the quickest boards Ive ridden but prefers to be in the turn to flatlining. Ive not tried it in powder but on groomed slopes, icy faces and some crud it remained positive if you are. Its Aircore and the edges dont cover tip and tail so the weight is very low but you still have good flex which provides pop. Rumour has it that the pop could go quickly but ive seen no evidence of this so far. In short, this board will improve your riding. Its light and uncertain so requires direct input from the rider. This means concentration, focus on technique to give positive info to the board and you get good results, smooth, long, strong turns. If you get sloppy, it does what it wants, which usually means it dumps you on your head. I like it.
