Get the superficial out of the way: nice graphics - nothing too gaudy and reflects the quiet confidence of Mr Jones, I guess.
I'm a novice with only 7 days' snowboarding prior to this season and don't have anything else to compare this board to, other than a FatBob that I rode last year for 3 days.
I was looking for a board that will last me about 3 years without becoming a bore after the first season but still not too challenging to learn on.
Have to say that I love this board. only problems i've had were with the setup of the bindings. other than that she's sweet as. really natural flow and holds the snow well. very responsive. manages to soak up most of the nasty bumps while still giving the rider a really good feel for what's under the board:
not too sure how they get that mix of good torsion and flex.
only challenge i still have to get to grips with is this board seems fast, which is a bit unnerving at first. and the store didn't de-tune the tips so I found it really difficult to keep the board in a straight line for a while until a techie helped me out.
I've had about 10 days' snowboarding this season and love my new board.
you also have to watch with the binding mounts that you don't overtighten the screws or you'll get the indentations on the underside of the board. finger-tight really does seem to be all that's needed.
I've set the board up with Burton Mission bindings and DC Terrain boots (size 10 - which fit the board nicely).
