The boys at Gnu really got it down. This Carbon Select has a medium-stiff flex, pretty good pop and a very deep scoop nose. It is very wide, no probs with my size 12's, and this also makes it very easy to control. It handles the steeps very well and snapping turns is very easy - almost too easy, allowing the rider to focus on riding style rather than actually negotiating the mountain. It pops nicely off of jumps, and landing it is a dream, if you almost catch an edge, the board seems to correct itself. Floats on powder, even for someone my size, and plows through anything else. I've read other reviews which refer to this board as rather 'chatty' on ice, but I think it holds its rail pretty well in hard conditions. Another great thing about the CS is the wax Gnu puts on it. This board comes ready to run the slopestyle - incredibly agile due to the factory wax. Its only drawback is its weight - this thing is heavy, really heavy. My front foot keeps falling asleep on the lift while holding it up. It also comes with a three-year warranty, and I don't blame Gnu for standing behind their product.
