The 03' Canyon is one hell of a good board, especially for bigger guys with larger boots sizes. There have been many, arguments over the years as to why wide boards suck (too clunky, not enough edge-to-edge quickness, etc. etc.), but Burton has done an excellent job addressing these issues and has produced an all-around board that is worthy of riding in any condition. I was lucky enough to experience every condition possible in the first six days I rode this board: frozen mornings in Vermont and Colorado, spring slush at Killington and fresh powder at Copper Mountain. Quite simply, this board handles it all. For a big board, it provides excellent edge-to-edge quickness and was a delight to manover on chunky ungroomed steeps and some tree-filled narrow trails. Handles black steeps wonderfully and stays amazingly stable on long, fast flats. Took it to the park for two days and started sticking landings like I never had before. Overall, the board isn't too stiff, but may be a challenge for beginners and novices to handle. If you're looking for a wide board, I'd highly recommend the Canyon...it is certainly a true "do it all" deck.
