I have been riding for only 2 seasons. My first season was very brief on a rented board, the rented boards were nasty trash. I have large feet and had a hard time trying to learn on a skinny rented dull edge board, so I gave up half way through the season and went back to my skis. This year I bought this Xtra Wide and now I can say that even though I'm a good skier I won't be going back to skis. This board is so smooth and responsive it's amazing. It can turn on a dime, it carves like a knife, and even though it's wider than most the weight is not a factor. The second time I was on it I was cathin sick air and carving with my chest no more than a foot or so off the snow, the board just held it's edge until I told it different. If you have Large feet or just want a good stable board, then this is one board you should take a look at. The price isn't bad either I picked up mine in a package deal with bindings for $299.
