This is my first board. Personally, I think the board is a decent starter board, because it has decent flex for a low end board and is forgiving. The problem with the board is that it doesn't turn easily. Everyone that gets on the board when I switch boards says that it is hard to initiate a turn with it and makes large carves, hence freeride. If you are just beginning an don't know if you want to stay in the sport or not you might want to buy this board, but I suggest renting then buying a better board personally.
