My purpose for getting this board was to have a freeride board that could handle hardboots and extremely aggressive riding. This one definitely fits the bill. By far the best freeride board I've ever ridden (out of Burton, Never Summer, B-Line, Volant - although the B-Line was exceptional in its own way). First of all, this board carves comparably to a Burton Factory Prime (their race board), only smoother. The edge hold on such a wide deck is absolutely incredible. It is easier to do fully laid-out turns on this board than it is on some alpine decks I've ridden. This particular size is pretty stiff for a freeride deck, comparable to some bx decks. A little much for park stuff because of that and because of its camber. It is the liveliest freeride board I've ridden, super fast edge to edge, and you can catch air between carves like you can on an alpine deck. Performs surprisingly well in the moguls (I was a little afraid it wouldn't because of its size and stiffness), again better than any board I've ridden. The way the sidecut and flex pattern is makes it very easy to switch from carves to skids and back and to pressure the edge wherever you want, plus it is light and easy to throw around. I've taken this board everywhere, from high-speed groomers to trees at Beaver Creek to 50 degree chutes in the backcountry to following ski patrol down those crazy bumps on Mary Jane. For my last comment, I will say that Doneks are absolutely gorgeous to look at (ok so they don't rival Arbors), the solid colors are my favorite because you can see the wood-grain underneath.
