At the start of this season I bought a Forum Peter Lien 155 board thinking it would do the job, because all the hype behind those boards, well I rode it for a month a it delaminated between the bindings, so I brought it back to my local shop, and Forum gave me a store credit so I picked up a 02 Burton Custom 156. my review:
this Burton board rides so much better than that Forum, its almost half the weight, and it has a smoother overall flex becuase of the sidewall construction, and the fact that its a directional board it has a soft nose, semi stiff tail, and semi soft mid section. This board also has a super durable and fast base and durable and smooth topsheet layer. The nose of this board is about 4 cm longer than the tail and a little taller, but it dosn't make much difference when you are riding, I kind of actually like the directional shape better because it makes you feel solid when riding switch, and it just feels much smoother. I ride park, pipe, powder, handrails, and street so I have put this board through a lot of punishment, I have even rode out on some hard pavement from sessioning handrails with little snow on the landing, and the base of the board seems almost untouched. I think the best thing about this board is that its soft, but stiff enough to be stable, and soft enough to push around when you are jibbing... I truly beleive this is the best all round board available.
So do yourself a favor and demo one, or even buy one, cause I can garantee you won't be disapointed. Quality is better than hype!
