This board seems nice. Ha, it’s bloody superb. Nitro, in general make their boards a bit wider than everyone else, which is good. The average size for humans is ever increasing which most companies seem to have forgotten (or are there a lot of small people in the States?). The width is perfect for my US13 feet; the torsional resistance is high which I really like. The weight is absolutly minimal. Longitudinal flex is stiff, but if you have the weight (80kg or so) and power it will bend smoothly, storing energy for massive ollies. Every board I’ve had, the edges don’t seem tough enough, but then again, Scotland is full of rocks and ice. Then base is incredibly fast, leaving my mate on a Burton Custom behind, as well as being pretty resistant to rocks biting it. As for turning, in the powder it is beyond belief, but as the snow is a little thin on the ground just now, most of the pisted runs are only one basher wide which for a board of this width is too narrow. On the wider runs it excels, entering the carve easily and rocketing out of it. Landing from height is a breeze, and the thing eats rails for breakfast. Pow Pow is where this board is at home, it simply glides down the mountain, but it attacks the park with the same willingness to please. The graphs look real nice on the website (http://www.nitrousa.com/20_weapon_armoury/21_nitro_line/boards/afr/atlas/series.php) but up close they look even sweeter. Nitro have added something to the laminate that has the same effect as the metallic paint on a car. In the sun it glistens. This board pleases in so many ways.
