this board rides really well (but make sure you read the end of this review). a bit heavy, but that makes it a little stiffer, which i like. the effective edge is 121. this is good cause it rides a little smaller in some ways, but you end up with a long board that is not necessarily more stable than a 156 for instance. it has a really cool sidecut....on the tail it is 8.5, the waist 8.9, and the tip 8.4. this allows turn initiation to be relatively smoother than exit. the mid sidecut of 8.9 means the whole edge will be used while carving. this is not impossible on other boards, just a little harder. i could tell a difference with the temple...but i would not say it really matters. i have a custom 56 that i like just as well. the only bad thing about the temple 61 is that i have had 2 different boards delam in 5 different places. and two other friends have had mervin boards delam. merving mfg. makes lib tech and gnu. and when i talked to people about the delams, no one was surprised. in fact most really good riders said they only got about 18 days max out of a mervin board before the pop was gone. and these are the midweek riders who are up all the time. all in all, i would get a more durable board.
