After about my 5th time renting, I decided to buy a board to save the cost/energy of rentals. Being a beginner, not that much mattered to me except price and height; I rented 155cm's mostly and a 152cm once, finding that the 152 turned a ton better. Found this 154 on sale extremely cheap, so I picked it up and put (heavy) liquid bindings on. Tried it twice so far, and it's fine for me. When you're a beginner/intermediate, you'll hardly notice the minute differences between the more expensive boards anyhow. It turned in fine, I didn't notice any bad warping or lack of quality/craftsmanship, but this is an early experience so far. In terms of performance, I have no idea since I'm very unschooled in how boards *should* react.. all I know is that I was able to get on the mountain easily enough and keep up with my (better) friends.
