i purchased the 169 over the 165 with a some hesitation - it's considerably longer (and stiffer) than the 162 i've been riding - but shouldn't have worried. it's stiff, it's quick edge to edge, it's super light, it rails hard, it has pop in the soft, makes sweet air and it's hard to hurt. i've been riding it all over the hill at whistler, and it feels right at home - in crud, shutes, groomers, the bowls, the lot. pay the extra bucks - you get what you pay for. and yes, the graphics are simple and a standout from all the other ridiculous crapolla. this length makes it an ideal all-mountain board - i decked it with some extra-stiff aluminum-based bindings (sims) and it's just a hill killer. sure, you have to ride it hard - it's probably not for cruising - but that's the point.
