This has proven to be an ideal beginner board. As a female rider I required a board with a small waist size to fit my smaller boot/binding set-up. The board has a very soft flex, yet due to the woodcore of Hammer boards, it can initiate and maintain great carves. It may be light but it is quite torsionally responsive. The only negative aspect is that it tends to loose its stability on hard snow at higher speeds. It is a good board for someone who wants to a board that will grow with you into the advanced intermediate stages of riding.
