So you like the snow so deep that you need a snorkel to breath and a diving mask to see. The doughboy shredder is a joy to ride when the snow gets deep. It is to boarding what a rhino chaser is to sunset beach. . . a joy to be on. With a mild sidecut (11/9m) it will provide stability at speed, oh what speed it has. As someone whom not only rides but instructs at Mammoth Mountain going off of Cornice into gremlins and finishing on Terrys run on a powder day there can be no other board that I would have underfoot. This board is stiff for the size but will not spank you like a ride timeless/yukon or even a k2 eldorado. It is meant for the steep and deep and there it belongs. Be sure though that you have a good sense of speed as this is the japanese bullet train of big boards. It not only carves well in the deep but will give you back the entrails. Most of the comments that Ive had on the board while in the go as follows "what in the hell is that thing" or "did you have to have that custom made." The former due to the length of the board as skis have now gotten progressively shorter and the later due to the beautiful topsheet featuring a surfer on a long board hucking out of the curl. Unfortunately since I do reserve the board for only those days with dumps over 24" it has only 11 days total on it. It still has snap and spunk but the long term durability may be in question. I will keep you up to date after this season has gone by. For those though that are contemplating a longer board I would recommend this board. It is not for the faint of heart and I would have trouble seeing someone 5'6" on it but know that you would not be disappointed in adding this fine piece of craftsmanship to your own quiver. Think deep.
