I have been riding hard boots and regular freeride boards for several years, and wanted to get a narrower twin-tip board that would be more suited to the stance 45/40 angles I use. Two years ago, nobody made such a thing (or nobody that I knew of), so I found CustomCraft and found that they could build one with the 23cm waist I wanted. I also wanted an asymmetric board, which they were happy to accomodate. I had an asym board a several years ago when I was riding soft boots, and I loved the results. The bad news is, the board broke on day one. The good news is, they took full responsibility for the problem (it's a long story, but suffice to say they handled it perfectly), and they had a new board in mind hands in a few weeks. They even accomodated a design change for the new board, since I had discovered that asym boards and hard boots don't mix. The new board rides seems to be indestructible, and it rides beautifully. It's very light, very stiff (by request), and it enabled me to do my first Euro-style carves, leaning into the turn far enough to get my hip to touch the snow. This sounds like a cliche, but it's true: this board gave me what I needed to push my riding to a higher level. I would have given them 10/10, but the base of the board is just slightly concave. This doesn't effect the way the board rides, so it's not a big deal, and it wouldn't prevent me from buying another board from them. If you want a custom freeride board, I would recommend CustomCraft, built a board that has served me very well. Marty, the guy who runs the show, was also very easy to deal with over the phone and by email.
