It was time to replace my beginner snowboard..."What should I choose--should I be trendy and buy a Burton? Or, should I buy a board that I can show everyone else up?" The answer was obvious, so I went to "tdcboardshop.com" (very good site) and looked at the brand new "Cap Series, 157" model with a retail price of $500 at a very inexpensive $199!! Find of the millenium, I should say! This board has easily out-performed my old board (1997 Sims Access 55) by A LOT!! It can hold an edge on the dinky greens/flat surface like no other and has pop that will shoot you off the lip like none other! I got this board for christmas (I found it for my dad to buy! :D) and when I picked the board up, It was like picking a feather up compared to the other boards I have carried. This board's flex is stiff, which is a very good thing for all you int-adv riders. The stiff flex causes you to hold an edge (as I said before). However, using it right out of the wrapper, I was disgruntled because I found that my buddies were passing me up with their boards (a Rage outracing an M3!? Unheard of! :D) but I quickly found that with all boards straight out the wrapper, you should always give them a good waxing job before using it the first time immediate optimum results. So, in general, this board has no faults I could find, holds a wicked edge, and is the best board I have ever boarded on.
