I bought this board because I was disappointed with the burton Canyon from 2000. The canyon doesn't turn too well at all, regardless of what people say. (namely myself) After having the canyon for a whole season, and comparing it to old boards of past, it was a great board. But little did I know that compared to this lib tech, it was terrible. The lib tech board is not the lightest of all boards. (my friend's m3 is light as a pancake) But this board carves and moves like hell. I'm serious. I am so much happier to be riding this year, I've actually improved quite a bit. Like, my learning curve went up because of this board. I can keep up with just about anyone now, and to be honest, they're now trying to keep up with me. I board with friends that go fanatically, and they've been doing so for the past 4 years. I picked it up a couple years ago, and now I'm just as good, almost better...This is a wide board, and I fit my size 11 vans Jamie Lynn's on it just fine. Not too much toe hang (23 degrees in front, 5 in back). The top sheet get's damaged pretty easily actually, just from bumping into people in the lines. It doesn't chip, it just scrapes off. It's a soft plastic I think. Burton boards chip when you bump. So I guess this is more durable? depends what bothers you more. Because this is a black board, (topsheet) the white scrapes look like a design. It's a bit stiff, so doing nose press grabs are a little tough. Although lib tech says it has a deep sidecut, it doesn't look it, but it performs like it. overall, an awesome board.
