I love my Maverick. I have been changing boards since I began riding in 1989, you know searching for the ultimate do it all board. Trough the years I have come to realize that what I like to do is surfstyle carving and the Maverick is the tool for the fob. The first time out you can already feel the grip. It hold well and is easy to transition into the turn, it does not lock in place like some of the stiffer boards do. This is usually taken care of by narrowing the waist. The Maverick has a 20.4cm waist but transitions with no effort. The wider waist allows its use in powder if you encounter it (with a slight change in your binding position). The only negative comment would be that I would like it to be a little faster. I am not a speed demond but when in a group I am easily passed, it dosen't seem to accelerate like the others. When I do get it up to speed though it handles it well. I never got any chatter out of it. Some say it a bit to soft but at my 165 lbs weight I can find no problem with it. Great cruising board and will carve all day at any speed.
