this board is listed mainly as a freestyle board, but i think its great all over the mountain. i take it on the steeps and it's very stable. the flex is too soft to be an all-out free ride board, but its still controllable. it also has a bidirectional shape which is really more for the park. its very light for a 161. this is one of my favorite boards. the construction is good. too bad avalanche's last good year was 2000. they got bought out by a-sport (silence snowboards) and now their boards are generic. it's not even real avalanche stuff anymore.
