I bought this board in my first year of riding. I am pleased that I did. It really suprised me. I thought that Lamar wasn't all that good and that after about a season or so I would have to buy a new one. Well, it proved me wrong. This board had pretty good flex and its nice and wide for us big footers. The base is pretty quick and so far pretty durable. I have riddin some pretty harsh terrain (trees, stumps, the odd rock) and it barley has a scratch on it. The top layer is very durable. My wife bought a K2 which cost almost double of what I paid, and my top layer is holding up much better than hers. Out in the fresh the board basically just glides over the pow with ease. Nice smoth ride. It hold a carv pretty good for a big board. Sometimes it will slide out on ya at high speeds. Only beef I have is that its a bit heavy but it pretty much comes with the territory when buying a wide board. All in all, I would definatly recomend this board to anyone who is just learning or just wants a nice steady board.
